Our Message, Our Mission

At the 2nd Annual Celebration of Life event at Kildare's in West Chester, PA in August 2015, our president Lori Nonnemaker presented our message, our mission "to provide greater comfort to cancer patients" as they go through their journey with cancer by funding the necessary research on complementary cancer treatments such as acupuncture, medical marijuana and dietary changes.

Working Through Cancer

As our president, Lori Nonnemaker, noted in her installment of "Wish I Knew What I Know Now", going back to work and being a productive member of the team was very important to our brother Buck.  Below is a piece that was aired during QVC & CEW Present Beauty with Benefits, an annual two-hour QVC broadcast that not only gave QVC customers the opportunity to get prestige beauty products, but benefited Cancer and Careers — 80% of the purchase price of the donated merchandise went to Cancer and Careers and its free resources.

Cancer and Careers (www.cancerandcareer.org) empowers and educates people with cancer to thrive in their workplace by providing expert advice, interactive tools and educational events. Through a comprehensive website, free publications, career coaching, and a series of educational seminars for employees with cancer and their healthcare providers and coworkers, Cancer and Careers strives to eliminate fear and uncertainty for working people with cancer. Cancerandcareers.org informs more than 250,000 visitors per year, providing essential tools and information for employees with cancer.

This video was lovingly produced, shot and edited by Buck's colleagues; Mike Cooper and Scott Kinkade from QVC and Scott Prestwood from 5SMProductions based in Playa Del Rey (http://5smproductions.com/).

Buck on Videography

Our brother Buck loved being a videographer for QVC and worked there for 24 years!  Listen to Buck tell you how he got involved in photography and how that led him to a career in videography.  This video was taken in November 2013 (16 months into the fight!) by his oldest daughter Grace in her apartment at Temple University.
